My Plus Size June – Part 1

So the month of June is almost over and wow, what a month! From fashion events to happy hour, bloggers to brands, so much amazingness all in one month was overwhelming and amazing! Yes, this month was a wonderful adventure and here is an inside look at some of the craziness behind it.

First up was an amazing event hosted by my dear friend Sahar Paz. The Find Your Voice book reading was just the thing I needed to start my month off strong and empowered. Sahar’s words of inspiration and motivation left me feeling like a true “Shero”.

Sahar is currently sourcing vendors for plus size “Shero” tanks however, I am in a large and I wear a size 18.

Armed with all the amazing energy I gained from Sahar’s event, I strutted my stuff at the Golden Confidence Pool Party. Click here to check out my look from that show stopping event.

Next up was the Harper + Liv blogger and press preview. The newly launch brand, currently available at Dillard’s in store and at Macy’s and Lord & Taylor online, made an immediate impression on me. The collection felt easy, fresh and well constructed. The pieces were on trend, but with an elevated quality and ranged in size from 16w-24w. The team at Harper + Liv was extremely passionate and eager to hear my honest thoughts and feedback, not only about their collection, but about issues affecting plus size fashion in general. I don’t know about you, but it makes this fashionista excited to see more options being offered by new brands like Harper + Liv.

The second to last week of the month of June was fully dedicated to FFFWeek. FFFWeek is a great opportunity to get an inside scoop on new brands, designers, labels and fashion collections. I love meeting with retailers and learning all about their vision and hopes for their collections, and at the same time, sharing with them what my readers are looking and asking for. Now I don’t call myself the authority on all things plus size, nor does my voice represent the wishes and desires of all. However, I do receive a lot of feedback from readers which I try my best to share with the brands. I see it as part of my social role to advocate for you, my readers. Anyhow, I digress!

My first official FFFWeek event was the Curves at Sea White Party. More than 500 plus size women, wearing their finest white looks on a beautiful vessel dancing the night away – now that’s what I call a party! Make sure to check out my earlier post featuring my white party look for this event.

Ok, because this is a long one, I’ve split up this post into two part. Check back tomorrow for part 2.
