Plus Size Socks with Xpandasox®

One of my favorite things about the fall and winter months is being able to slip on a great pair of boots. Whether its booties, regular boots, or over the knee boots I just love them! However, as many of you ladies (and gents) know, finding socks that work for our plus size calves is not always easy. Somehow I always end up just grabbing a pair of white men’s socks and well, no offense guys, but those do nothing for the fashionista in me! A few months back at Full Figured Fashion Week I ran into a new company claiming to solve this problem. With their sewn-in Xpandapanel™, Xpandasox® claimed to stretch and contract to stay up without binding, allowing for great style and comfort. They even dared to claim that their socks stretched to accommodate calves 24 inches +. Well since I’ve been so sick and tired of wearing white men’s socks in the winter I decided to put Xpandasox® to the test.

I requested the Solids with Lace Panel in Black/Black (worn in this post) from their Purrfect Goddess collection (don’t you love that name). I also went with a pair of the Solids with Solid Panel in Charcoal from their Basic & Fashion collection. I wear a size 8 shoe and have an 18 inch calf. I picked their size 9-11 and I decided to pair the socks with a comfy pair of knee boots from Catherines for afternoon brunch with the family.

First, I will say these bad boys went up without a problem. I loved the idea of having cute lacey socks under my boots. Second, they didn’t slide down my leg and better yet, I didn’t feel constricted in them. My biggest struggle has been with socks that bind too much at the top and just hurt by the end of the night. I wore these comfortably for several hours without any issues and even kept them on at home once the boots came off.

The socks currently range from $16-$18 with options for both men and women – which I love! Even better, with every sock purchase, Xpandasox® will deposit a sock into their “Sock Bank”. Now you may not know this because I sure didn’t, but socks are the most asked for item in homeless shelters in the USA. Xpandasox® has partnered with organizations that will withdraw socks from their “bank” to give to those in need. Win, win anyone?!

Well guys, I am super excited to try a few of the different print options offered by Xpandasox® and work them into my regular boot wearing rotation.
