Oh boy! Old man winter decided to come out early and kick fall in the you know what! All jokes aside, it has been so cold the last few days and nope, I was not ready for it! With being 8 month pregnant, getting dressed in the morning seems like a constant battle, so I will admit that leggings and a cute sweater have been my go-to wardrobe. Thank goodness for cute winter outerwear that allows me to camouflage my ho-hum leggings and sweater and transform my look into a casual chic outfit.
Plus size outerwear options have come a long way and thanks to Modcloth, I didn't need to invest in a boring maternity coat that I would only wear for 2 months. If you are unfamiliar with ModCloth, definitely check them out. They are truly committed to helping women express their own personal style and their pieces are as unique and individual as their customers. They believe that fashion is for every body and their size range goes from XXS to 4XL! Plus their coat selection is amazing, everything from cute bombers to fancy car coats; definitely a little something for everyone.
I automatically fell in love with this bold, leopard print coat. Talk about instant outfit! I adore that I can wear it buttoned to the top, no scarf needed, or slightly open for a little neck line. What I am particularly captivated by the most is the fit and flare style of the coat. It's so feminine, almost like a cute dress, and it also provides room for my growing belly. Last but not least, the high low effect is super cute and flirty as well as providing a little extra coverage.
In terms of sizing, I went with a 2X and found the sizing to be generous. I probably could have comfortably done a 1X, but with a 2X I can sneak in a heavy sweater or two. I also paired this look with super cute velvet leggings, a comfy sweater and gold accent boots for an extra pop of sass. I selected a size 3X on both the leggings and top which were just right!
So my lovelies, if you are looking to stay comfortable but still look fabulous, definitely look into getting a statement coat. Now this might not be the coat you select when it's below zero, but when the winter blues get you down, this cute coat will definitely put a smile on your face.
