Maxi dresses for all! – Vestidos maxi para todos!

I am a strong believer that a beautiful maxi dress can make any women feel tall, strong and sexy. However, a few years ago you couldn’t catch me dead in one. You see, popular fashion magazines lead me to believe that maxi dresses were only for the tall and slender. In an attempt to not look like a short stump, I always avoided them and opted for shorter dress options.

Now that I’ve broken free from the fashion shackles that I lived by, I’ve realized that the maxi myth is just that, a myth! It turns out that maxi dresses have this incredible power to make ALL women look tall, slender and beautiful.

Obviously my love for maxi dresses automatically drew me to the beautiful Elissa dress by Igigi. As part of their new Urban Jungle Collection, I was instantly attracted to the beautiful print and classic cut. Plus Igigi dresses are always designed to accent beautiful curves and make every women feel glamorous.

Obviously, I’m a fan, but below is a more detailed review of this product.

Fit: I opted with a size 18/20, but in this dress I could have gone down to a 14/16. I also found the fit generous at the bust.

Length: Igigi typically is a little long on me, but because of the design of this dress I was able to blouse out the top and avoid hemming the bottom. Even with flats this trick was a great fix. What I also loved about this dress was the deep V-neck. Ladies, it you have a short upper torso and a short neck, (raises hands) then this is the dress for you. I felt six feet tall in it!

Function: I think this dress is extremely practical and a perfect transitional maxi for the upcoming season. So far I’ve worn it with sandals at the beach and heels for date night; next up boots and a denim jacket.

Warning: If you are shy and don’t like to receive compliments, definitely stay away from this dress. In the two times that I’ve worn it, I’ve received several comments. Don’t say I didn’t warn you! 😉
