From day one Victor and I knew we would probably have a pretty unconventional wedding. The second time around for the both of us meant there was no need for many of the "must do" items your parents, bridal party or that know it all aunt keeps telling you that you have to have.
One of the first items we knew we didn't really want to deal with was all the paper stock that comes with a wedding i.e.. save the date cards, invitations, paper RSVPs', etc. Honestly, I am not one for paper products and I have yet to meet an invitation or save the date card that I've loved enough to keep. So with that in mind Victor and I decided early on that we would do all of our wedding announcements electronically. For us it was a win-win, save money, time and help out the environment – SCORE!
Being a blogger I know what it takes to build a website. And while I've built many in the past three years I was not looking forward to going too crazy or over the top with our site. I wanted something that was easy and simple and honestly that either Victor or I could quickly update.
This is where GoDaddy’s new website builder GoCentral came in hand. After a long work day I was able to get bae to sit down for ONE hour to work on wedding stuff – and trust me, there was no way I was going to get him to dedicate that whole hour to our website.
So in about 30 minutes we picked out a theme (there were 7 themes available and many fonts and color options) on the GoCentral website, uploaded a few of our favorite pictures and wrote up our engagement story.
We focused on including as much information as possible since our wish is to use our site as the central hub for our wedding. This is where we will announce special updates regarding our big day, collect RSVPs in addition to adding maps to our venue, information regarding our registry and of course post pictures leading up to our big day.
Bae was convinced that only a super techy couple could pull this off but honestly even he found GoCentral incredibly user friendly. Now if only my blog website was so easy to create!
So ladies, if you find yourself looking to steer away from the norm I recommend you check out GoCentral. So far our friends and family are excited about our techy wedding idea and have shared how much they love our site.
