Good morning my beautiful ladies. If you follow me on social media than you may already know that I made a very special announcement on Sunday. Yes, heyyy_itsbae and I are expecting our first baby together and we are besides ourselves.
Now, if you've followed my health journey then you know I was diagnosed with Undifferentiated Connective Tissue Disease with confirmed Sjogren's Syndrome and early markers for Rheumatoid Arthritis and Lupus in October of last year. This diagnosis was incredibly scary for our family and I remember both heyyy_itsbae and I sitting in our car crying after the doctor told us that my disease was very advanced and that kids would probably not be in our future.
Thankfully, a few weeks after we found a much better doctor who was way more optimistic about my condition, my ability to recover and eventually starting a family. One of the first questions I asked him was if I would be able to have kids. He looked at me confused and said "of course".
The next few months were a journey of many doctor visits, tests, blood work and lifestyle changes to get healthy and recover from the flare ups of my condition. Funny enough in that process we completely forgot about making a family and just enjoyed the ups and downs of life. That was until that random Wednesday when in the middle of the night something told me to get up and take a pregnancy test. And just like that our lives changed!
You see ladies, life is crazy that way. Things happen when they need and are meant to happen. Now a pregnancy with an auto-immune disorder brings on certain additional concerns but much like our doctor, we are optimistic and have faith that things will happen as they need and are meant to.
So my lovelies, I am excited to take you on this new journey with me, share with you the ups and downs, silly and crazy things that come along with being pregnant and eventually mommy-hood. In the meantime, I wanted to bring to you a super cute look from a new brand that I recently discovered.
PinkBlush is a super cute brand that focuses on bringing trendy and affordable fashion to straight, plus and pregnant women. They do offer a regular plus section and a plus size maternity section which is where this cute dress is from. Honestly, what I loved about this brand is that it doesn't scream maternity so I can definitely use these items now and next summer once the baby is here. The size is a junior plus so I went up to a size 3x just to make sure it would fit my growing belly. I would say 3x would fit up to a size 22.
So my lovely ladies, I hope you like this look and I can't wait to hear your maternity style recommendations.
